Professional- I am beginning my 15th year of teaching. I have a degree in Mass Communications from UNCC and received my teaching certification through the Regional Alternative Licensing Center in Raleigh. I received my National Boards Certification in 2008. I have taught multiple grade levels of English (7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, & 11th). I absolutely LOVE literature and one of my many goals is to promote that same love of reading within my students. It is my hope that at the end of the school year, students will walk out of my classroom prepared for 12th grade and will have fallen in love with a piece of literature. Personal- I live in High Point, NC with my husband, Matthew and our three children (Sam 12, Ella 10, & Daniel 7). When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, reading, hiking, going to the beach, and watching college sports. My favorite teams are Carolina (basketball) and Alabama (football)! GO HEELS! ROLL TIDE!
